DIFFERENT QUALITY OF CASHEW NUTS

Cashews are typically graded based on their size and shape. The larger and more uniform the cashew nut, the higher its grade. The grades are usually denoted by a combination of letters and numbers, such as W-240, W-320, W-450 etc., where "W" stands for "whole" and the number represents the number of nuts per pound. The lower the number, the larger the cashew.

• W-180: Known as the "King of Cashews" and most expensive
• W-240: A large and popular grade known for a good balance between size and price
• W-320: The most commonly available and widely used size.
• W-450: Smaller in size and general purpose cashew.
• W-500: The smallest whole cashew grade typically used in applications where the size of the nut is less critical, like an ingredient in processed foods.

Broken cashews are classified separately based on the extent to which they are broken. Premium cashews have minimal defects such as spots, blemishes, or insect damage.

CHEMICAL FREE CASHEW NUTS

The shelf life of dry fruits by other companies are extended through various processes and the use of certain chemicals. 

• Sulphur Dioxide is commonly used as a preservative for dried fruits& nuts. It helps in preventing discoloration and acts as an antimicrobial agent.
  
• Sorbic acid is often used in conjunction with potassium sorbate as preservatives to inhibit the growth of mold, yeast, and fungi. 
• Ascorbic acid is used as an antioxidant to prevent oxidation, maintain color and flavor.
• BHA (Butylated Hydroxyanisole) and BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene) are Antioxidants used to prevent the oxidative rancidity of fats and oils in dried fruits.

However, our premium W240 Cashew Nuts does not have any preservatives or chemicals to extend the shelf life. Our packaging is done in small batches, mostly sold directly to consumers without retail network or long term stocking. Hence you always get natural cashew nuts which are fresh and crispy.

NATURAL & FAIR PRICE CASHEW NUTS

Our cashews are sourced from naturally grown cashew plants around Honnavar region of Karnataka. Cashew plants in the region are more of a wild crop, without manual intervention with fertilisers and pestisides. In fact, they dont even water the plants manually - plants grow based on rain water and other natural water sources. The cashew nut processing units mostly employ the locals, especially the women. We believe in paying a fair price for the procurement and sharing the same for transperancy.

Rs.460 per 500gm i.e. approximately 80% of the cost.

Packaging by FSSAI Licensed Partner, Warehousing, Sales & Marketing:
Rs.90 per 500gm i.e. approximately 16% of the cost.

Just Rs.25 per 500gm i.e. approximately just 4% of the cost.
